HELP Back to Help/Info
What Happened to the Messages from the Study Group? If you are a member of a Study Group and you realise that messages from the Study Group are not being sent to you (you have checked that new messages are being posted to the Study Group Archive area), you likely have had your email address stopped from receiving messages. This action is the result of 'Bounced' messages. When messages are refused by your email address box, it could be for the following reasons:
To remedy the problem, you'll need to know what caused the problem (above). If you continue to not receive messages, it is likely due to:
Contact your ISP and advise them that messages to you from SmartGroups.com are being blocked and that they should remove the block. Let them know you are a distance learning student and require email access from SmartGroups.com to receive messages from your fellow students.
What is Bouncing? If you send a lot of email, you may notice that some messages don't make it to their intended recipient. When a message cannot be delivered due to a problem with the recipient's email server, that message is said to 'bounce.' A bounce can be caused by any number of problems, including temporary network problems, non-payment of an ISP (Internet service provider) bill, or because the address has changed. When the mail delivery problems are resolved within a few days, the subscription will continue automatically.
